THE REEF LOCATION
The Reef Location
THE REEF LOCATION- THE SEA AT YOUR DOORSTEP
The Reef Location is rare and prized as it offers unparallel benefits with its unique position at the center of the southern coastline.
Well located along the vibrant Keppel Bay at the southern tip of Singapore, this esteemed location is highly sought after by home buyers and investors. To date, the luxury residences at The Reef Location have been well received and transacting at a price range unique to its category. Formerly known as Keppel Harbour, this location has a rich history when it started out as a ship repair yard. Over the years, Keppel Land transformed the Keppel Bay precinct into a tropical resort city that includes seafront residences, VivoCity shopping mall, Sentosa Island, Resorts World Sentosa Integrated Resort, and Universal Studios Singapore.
The Reef Location is perfect for those who desire to be up close with the sea such as waking up every morning breathing in the fresh sea breeze and having the sea right in front of their doorstep. Given Singapore is an island, there is much residential development with great sea views. However, The Reef Location offers a unique seafront marina living right next to the Marina at Keppel Bay and you cannot get any closer to the sea than this!
10KM OUTDOOR GREEN SPACES
Besides the sea, The Reef Location is uniquely enveloped by a cluster of 3 parks and 1 nature reserve. Known as the Southern Ridges, the starting point of the 10 kilometers trail, the Marang Trail, is only 11 minutes walk from The Reef Location. Along this trail at Mount Faber Park, you will come close to the cable car station and the Merlion sculpture at Faber Point before arriving at Henderson Waves which is between Mount Faber Park and Telok Blangah Hill Park.
The iconic Henderson Waves stands at 36 meters above the ground was opened to the public in 2008. Designed by RSP Architects Planners and Engineers and IJP Corporation (UK), the 274-meter long bridge is the tallest pedestrian bridge in Singapore and it spots a graceful flow of undulating waveform. The architectural form is created using steel arches and filled in with curved ribs made of slats of Balau wood, giving the bridge both a natural and contemporary appearance.
Along the trail from Henderson Waves towards Telok Blangah Hill Park near The Reef Location, you will find many interesting attractions such as Sembcorp Forest of Giants. Funded by Sembcorp Industries, this beautiful park showcases a collection of 600 giant trees from approximately 55 species. Some of the trees will grow to a height of 80 meters and such enormous trees would take more than 50 years to mature. Other interesting landmarks include Alkaff Mansion, Forest Walk, and the Singing Forest in the Telok Blangah Hill Park.
If you are a garden enthusiast, you must not miss HortPark which showcases theme gardens with the latest garden landscape designs. It’s a great place to gain inspiration and ideas for your own garden.
As we draw near to the tail of the Southern Ridges, you will find the tranquil Labrador Nature Reserve, a former British military battlement, now home to thriving wildlife and natural vegetation. This well-protected nature reserve which is close to The Reef Location is a rare find given Singapore is a highly urbanized nation.
Walking along the elevated Canopy Walk that links HortPark to Kent Ridge Park, you can relieve the history of Singapore. The Kent Ridge Park site is where one of the last battles were fought during World War II. Today, Singapore’s history is commemorated at the “Reflections at Bukit Chandu” museum located at one end of the Canopy Walk. Not only is Kent Ridge Park rich with Singapore’s heritage, but it is also a great hangout for fitness enthusiasts as the park is well equipped with 20 fitness stations and most of them are elderly-friendly.
LIVING CLOSE TO THE CITY
One of the highlights of The Reef Location is the proximity to the Central Business District and Marina Bay Financial Centre. For those who are working in the business district, the commute from The Reef Location is a mere 5-minutes drive. In addition, offices at one-north, Mapletree Business City, Science Park, and the surrounding area are easily accessible by car, bus, or the MRT from The Reef At King’s Dock. Indeed the development’s convenient location is highly desirable to potential home buyers.
MAJOR TRANSFORMATION BY URA
The Greater Southern Waterfront is one of the key highlights of URA’s latest Masterplan released in 2019. Under the plan, a continuous boulevard will be developed along the seafront, connecting residences, shops, recreational facilities from Pasir Panjang to Marina East. And all these exciting transformations are within close proximity by walking or driving from The Reef Location.
The Greater Southern Waterfront stretches for 30 kilometers from Gardens by the Bay East to Pasir Panjang, covering a vast area of 2,000 hectares of land. It has a land size equivalent to 6 times of Marina Bay and double of Punggol, making it a mammoth project by URA and its development partners. And for the years ahead, the southern coastline will be the star focus for the nation. This is similar to 2010 when the nation was awed by the transformation of Marina Bay Front and in 2020 the nation was swept away by another great development, Jewel at Changi Airport.
Work has already begun at the southern waters with PSA moving its port operations in phases from its present sites in Tanjong Pagar, Keppel, and Brani to Tuas. The Southern waterfront will be the next frontier for Singapore as it undergoes rejuvenation and transformation into a modern township and thriving community to support live, work and play. The land at Keppel Club which is just minutes from The Reef Location will be the upcoming residential precinct with 9,000 homes. It will consist of a mixture of private and public housing, interwoven with waterfront promenades and green spaces.
With the major transformation of the Greater Southern Waterfront, the Keppel Bay area has become a focal point for URA and developers. It is foreseeable that the value of The Reef Location will enjoy significant upside potentials in the future.
